NOW OFFERING: HALF-DAY DAYCARE FOR GROOMING CUSTOMERS
A typical day at campThe average day for your dog begins with a two-hour romp around the big yards in the back of Camp Mimi. Trees, pine cones, sticks, and countless friends help pass the time quickly. At approximately 10 am, we have what we call the “unleashing of the hounds” where we send the dogs around to the front of the property where the pool is located. Swim time has arrived, and even though not all dogs partake in the activity, almost all will gather at the pool to cool down with the splashing and swimming of others. As they climb in and out of the pool they bask in the sun, climb under the huge bushes to seek shade, and run around the barn. The facility is completely shut down for this timeframe. No employees, mail, deliveries, nothing in or out as the dogs control the entire front of the facility. Approximately two hours or so later, we again return them to the large yards in the back for more running, play, and lying in the shade for many. After 6-7 hours of continuous playtime, most of the dogs are ready to cool off and head inside, and we have their climate-controlled suites ready for their relaxation, along with piped in music, and fresh water provided with auto waterers. Nap time is just what the doctor ordered about 3 pm, to get ready for the day campers to start going home around 4 pm.

WHY SELECT CAMP MIMI DOGGIE DAYCARE?
There are many reasons to bring your dog to doggie daycare. Dogs need exercise, and lots of it to stay healthy and trim. They need socialization with other dogs, to maintain a good disposition and attitude. And they need time away from their parents on occasion to give mom/dad a break from taking care of them on a daily basis.
We all love our furry friends. But being cooped up, or not getting enough exercise will lead to obesity and an unhealthy animal. Being able to run for hours at a time, and playing with other dogs is a natural way for dogs to say healthy, and happy. The interaction between dogs is especially important for the younger dogs to learn how to merge with the “pack”.
Here at Camp Mimi we use a completely natural setting (8 wooded acres) to let the dogs run around in. We do not use toys (ie tennis balls, chewables, etc) because those items can be fought over by dogs for ownership. Outside they play with pinecones, sticks, and each other. They dig, run, and they roll around in the natural environment.
We have a few agility items they can climb on, but other than that, it is the ground and grass/dirt. We also bring them out to the pool area for a minimum of two hours each weekday to let them either swim, or for those who don’t swim, to at least get their legs wet. It is one of their highlights of the day, and the unleashing of the hounds to the front is always a spectacular event to watch.
Once the dogs have played outside for 6 - 7 hours, and sometimes a bit more, we bring them in to cool down. We start the process of getting the day campers ready to go home, and get ready to feed the boarders.
